Personal information that you share on social media could be used by scammers to commit fraud. Sending money to anyone that you have not met in person, or in response to an online advertisement, poses a fraud risk.

Signs of a possible scam:
Where you are asked to send money to pay (for example):
- To receive a prize or lottery winnings,
- To obtain credit or a loan
- A charity
- Someone you don’t know
